Texas Chocolate Cake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup of unsalted butter
02 - 1 cup of hot water
03 - 1/4 cup of cocoa powder, unsweetened
04 - 2 cups of plain flour
05 - 2 cups of regular sugar
06 - 1 tsp of baking soda
07 - 1/2 tsp of table salt
08 - 2 large eggs
09 - 1/2 cup of buttermilk
10 - 1 tsp of vanilla essence

→ Frosting

11 - 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
12 - 1/4 cup of cocoa powder, unsweetened
13 - 1/3 cup of milk
14 - 3 1/2 cups of powdered sugar
15 - 1 tsp of vanilla essence
16 - 1/2 cup of chopped pecans (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Turn your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease up a big sheet pan.
02 - Melt the butter in a pot, toss in the water and cocoa powder, and let it boil. Take it off the heat.
03 - Grab a bowl and whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, and baking soda. Pour the cocoa blend in and mix it up.
04 - Throw in the eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla. Stir until it’s smooth and ready to go.
05 - Pour the finished batter into your pan and bake for around 20 to 25 minutes.
06 - In a pot, melt the butter, mix in the cocoa powder, and slowly add the milk, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Stir till creamy.
07 - Spread the warm frosting over the hot cake, smoothing it out. Add pecans on top if you like.
